Benjamin Tang is one of the wisest grade 10 students at Luwan Senior High School. He always gets a good score in quizzes and tests. He also knows a lot of things that most people don’t know. He can always include many details when talking about major events that happened in the past because he is very interested in learning history.

Benjamin graduated from St. Francis Xavier’s College. He thinks life at Luwan is good, other than the food. Benjamin is extremely fond of social studies which is taught by Mr. Berg because he loves history. Books and TV shows also attract him to learn a lot without any pressure. Watching the “Discovery” channel is one of his favorite things to do in his spare time after school. He considers it to be very interesting and informative. He always enjoys the process of learning. He suggested that us students “should read more books in our daily life .”

So this inquisitive student often pays lots of attention reading attractive books. He will give up a book if he thinks it is boring and unnecessary to read whole book. If Benjamin were given a lot of time, he would choose a book called “Brave New World” without any hesitation because the book describes the horrible situation that arises when people do not think for themselves. People always follow what others say, whether it be their family, boss or government. Benjamin tells us that we should develop our own perspectives on the world’s issues, we should always keep thinking for ourselves.

His studies have also taught him that cooperation is very important to society. Benjamin made a vivid comparison between living cells and human life to explain. Individual cells are like individual humans, and the cooperation between cells is like society. Family plays an important role here because they are the people who often help you the most. Perhaps family could represent individual organs within an organism, sharing large similarities and supporting each other. Furthermore, if every cell were the same, no multicellular organism could survive. Clearly, Benjamin puts a high value on individuality.

Benjamin has no idea about what he will do in the future. He will enjoy his high school life step by step and keep doing daily things as usual. And he said that he will keep reading as his habit to have a wider range of knowledge and to enrich his mind as well. What’s more, he wants to improve his skill at playing the guitar this term, although he already plays the guitar pretty well at present. He thinks that he will play better in the future. No doubt, with his inquisitive and keen mind, this student will improve in many different ways in the years to come.
