Anny is a star student in Grade 12 now. She wants to go to the United States or Canada because both of them are in North America and most countries in North America are immigrant countries. She thinks the people in immigrant countries are more receptive than the people in other non-immigrant countries. She believes that the two countries have very kind people and very good communication.
She chose to study in Luwan Senior High School because she wanted to study abroad for a few years, even when she was in primary school. At that time she heard that Luwan Senior High School has an International Department and the International Department was public. So she decided she would like to have a try, and then she succeeded in entering the school.
Anny has a wide range of interests, such as drawing, traveling, understanding the culture of different places and talking. What’s more, drawing is what she is really good at. She has also read many books. Her favourite kinds of books are suspense and whodunit. Her favourite book is called: “If I can grow up, it’ll be so good”. It talks about a little girl who is terminally ill, but she is very brave and always faces and overcomes all obstacles and difficulties with confidence. And her favourite film is called: “Get out! Tumor monarch”. Although the story is very simple, it actually showed her a very correct attitude: “regardless of what happens in life, we should be optimistic to face life.”
As a star student, Anny serves as the President of the MUN Club. She thinks this position is very hard. There are a lot of things to manage and she needs to think about a lot of things every day. But having the chance to deal with the relationships between people and helping people to complete their tasks is also very interesting. Her main work for MUN is taking part in meetings and communicating between people. She thinks that “different kinds of works are all very hard so we should understand and care for each other more.”
On weekends, she usually has a sketch class. If there are some volunteer activities that she is interested in, she will do them. Occasionally, she goes out with her friends or watches American dramas at home. Her best friends are Jessica, Sally and Lillian because they are very good people. They always help her when she needs help, care for her, support her thoughts and share happy or unhappy things with her. She is very grateful for their help, even though she is always carefree and likes to joke with her classmates. She hopes they can always forgive her.
The thing she wants to do most but does not have time to do is to learn another language because she thinks only learning English is too boring in the future. After learning other languages, she’ll have more options. Her favourite teacher now is Mr. Chang. To her, Mr. Chang is always very patient and careful in class. If she could become any animal, she would like to become a bird because it can fly everywhere and it’s convenient.
All in all, Anny Chen is such a star student.
