Amber is a student at Luwan Senior High School. She is a smart girl and she knows what she wants in the future.

Amber is a grade 12 student in the BC program. She lives with her mom and dad. The reason she decided to study in the BC program is because it’s more meaningful than the domestic school. As well, she has more time to do her own things.

At present, Amber has a clear goal for the future. Her ideal university is the University of Toronto or the University of Western Ontario. Her dream job is to be an officer or a dietician. “So what I need to do at the moment is prepare to get into the university and earn my qualifications as a dietitian.

There is never a perfect thing, especially a perfect person, but people can always improve. So was Amber always the confident person she is today, even in Grade 10?  She smiled and said “No, absolutely not.” When she was in Grade 10, her feeling was “a little bit afraid.” She was worried that if she could not “get along with my classmates well, I [she] would feel very terrible.” She smiled again, and said she was completely wrong. She realized that she thought too much. “After that, I started to worry about my grades and my English level, but the teachers are very nice. They are patient enough to correct your mistakes. If I have questions, I can always ask them. ”

How does Amber improve her English? She doesn’t learn by rote or memorize mechanically. Instead, she likes watching English TV shows like Gossip Girl, or some meaningful movies. “Besides, we get plenty of time to speak English with classmates and teachers,” she said.

Amber enjoys reading, playing the piano and playing badminton. She often plays badminton with her classmates, and you can also find her in the gym. Maybe pursuing interests will have a negative influence on studies sometimes, but she can manage time properly. For Amber, she can balance both study and interests. She loves music as well. As a result, she joined the music club, and became the piano player in the team.

“For the time being, my plan is to get into my university and earn my certification as a dietitian. After that, I’ll think of how to find a job.” I believe Amber can achieve her plan and be even better in the future.
