Jerry Li (grade 12)

It’s the same as the previous years. New grade 10 students are enrolled in our school. Normally freshmen feel frustrated, confused and dumb. Nevertheless the most frequent word heard from interviewing the grade 10s this year is “Awesome”. Every student is having a pleasant time in our BC program. Let’s check out how they feel about their first month in our BC program!

The big contrast between Chinese teaching methods and western style has given the freshmen a new impression of high school life. As Jerry from grade 10 said, “Self-discipline is the most crucial part to achieve our academic success. Teachers won’t put too much unnecessary pressure on you. This environment helps to enhance our relationships. People who have the same interests can learn from others during daily chats and clubs, such as music club.” Vivian has the same opinion as Jerry. “It’s awesome to have clubs during lunchtime, and we can both enrich our spare-time and make friends from different grades.”

Unlike other students, Jerry is a loyal supporter of “Chit-Chat” because he believes it can improve our English. Since we’re in a Canadian school, we should train and get used to colloquial English. It’s going to help us a lot after going abroad. “What’s more, teachers and students around me are nice and really obliging. And I want to have a pizza party! ” he added. Meanwhile, Chit-Chat has also become a nightmare to other students, especially for those who lose a lot of cards.

The grade 10s are getting used to the new environment and ready to study here for three years. It’s so wonderful to hear that all of them are expecting to have a great time at Luwan BC!
