Hi there, I’m Lychee. How’s everything going in Luwan? I want to briefly introduce my residential life in New College, University of Toronto. Wilson, Wetmore and 45 Willcocks are the three buildings that students can choose to live in at New College. I’m living in Wetmore hall this year, but I’m familiar with all of them. I would say living in New College has numerous benefits that I can list for you.

Firstly, the best cafeteria in the University of Toronto is located on the ground floor of Wilson and Wetmore, which are connected with each other. You can choose different meal plans: 330 times a year, 15 times for a week or unlimited times. I don’t recommend choosing unlimited times because you’ll definitely get tired of that food and want to eat elsewhere. In wintertime, the most convenient thing is that you don’t need to wear any coats and search for food in the strong wind, which saves you time to do other things. Secondly, there are other facilities like free laundry (only for New College), free music rooms with pianos and a nice library named Ivey Library. Each floor has a common room where you can cook food on your own, as well as at least three washrooms and one laundry room. You have one or two dons who can help you with everything about dormitory life; they are all students but work like dorm supervisors. They will hold some events such as parties and even give you a surprise on your birthday. You can feel free to talk to them about conflicts with your neighbors, your study problems or anything that you like. Last but not least, New College is in a great location. It’s right next to the Athletic Center, a place for doing sports with three pools an indoor track and different kinds of sports courts. You have free access as long as you are a student at the University of Toronto with your own Tcard (student card).

After hearing those details, are you willing to live in New College? Please feel free to ask me questions about New College or U of T. I’m glad to help you with my own experiences or we can figure it out together.

Best wishes from Toronto,

Lychee
