Another exciting year has begun at Luwan and I am thrilled to be part of this exceptional and dynamic school community. It is a real honour for me to have the privilege to work with such dedicated, caring, positive, energetic, and passionate teachers and students.
As we begin this school year, let’s remind ourselves to be good to ourselves. It is our top priority, now more than ever before, to stay healthy – not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally. Let’s remember to be kind to ourselves and that mistakes help us grow and get better, as long as we learn from them. I hope that our students will continue to set big goals and that they will also remember to take care of themselves along the way. The only things that are between you and your goals are, dedication, perseverance, and a sincere trust in yourself. Remember that the best version of yourself is yet to come and that having a growth mindset is the number one key to success. In no matter what we are doing, we need to believe in ourselves so that magic (learning!) can happen.
Even though the beginning of the school year was a little different than what we are used to, with a blended schedule of online and face-to-face classes, the students and teachers have already done an amazing job at demonstrating that when everyone tries their very best, everything is possible! Our grade 10 students are adapting very well to their new routine in the BC program and are improving their English skills daily. The grade 11 students keep on getting involved around the school and helping others whenever they have an opportunity. Our grade 12 students are already demonstrating great leadership while mentoring the new students. They are also getting ready to apply to universities around the world and we are confident that they will achieve great results in their BC classes and university offers.
I know I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that, together, we will make this school year a fantastic one!
I wish you all a wonderful 2020-2021 school year!
