The Luwan BC Track and Field event was held recently at the Luwan Senior High School playground on a beautiful sunny days. Our new playground seemed shiny and vivid under the sun. Everyone enjoyed this sports activity.

We had four events: 1 mile run, 400m-relay, 100m sprint and medicine ball. The first event was the 1 mile run. Students got ready at the starting line. Colorful team clothes, the red playground, the girls’ long hair, and the boys’ shoelaces were just like an oil painting. Every team member tried their best to run, and we could hear the running sound come and go around the track. After about 5 minutes, in the girls’ race, the Grey Sharks won, and in the boys’ race, Pink Flamingos won.

The second event was 400m-relay. Students handed over their batons to their team members. Everyone was outstanding because they did sports in their free time to practice their speed. In the end, the Yellow Bees were the winners for the girls’ team and Pink Flamingos were the winners for the boys’ team. The Pink Flamingos are really good at running as they won the first two races.

We also had 100m and medicine ball. Students used their own special skills and powerful arms to throw the medicine ball. At the start of the medicine ball game, Joe, a boy from the Red Dragons, had a good beginning. But unluckily for the Dragons, Klaus from the Yellow Bees won. For the girls, Viorina from the Red Dragons won the game.

The last game is 100m sprint. We had to run twice, the finals and preliminary. Explosive power plays a crucial role in this kind of game. The Orange Tigers and Red Dragons were the winners of the girls and boys respectively.

This event makes us have a more cooperative group spirit and improves our team – work ability. It is not only a good opportunity to play with classmates, but also makes us know “There are mountains beyond mountains, and heavens beyond heavens”.
