Entering the corridor, silence reigned, not like the usual cacophony you find in the classroom. Students were patiently concentrating on their projects. “Nice shot!” Jerry’s sonorous voice broke the hush.
Last month, our teacher, Ms.Park, assigned us an extraordinary project: making a projectile. When we heard this news, we couldn’t hide our excitement and happiness since designing and putting theory into action is more amusing for us. We immediately threw ourselves into this assignment. Our goal was to make a projectile hit a target.
The due date came as planned. Every student was nervous but anticipated this event since we had poured so much time, enthusiasm, and creativity into our work. Ms. Park provided us some time to practice. Then the competition started. The duration of the activity was brief. We enjoyed our moments in the game, and the effort that we put into the contest. Mr. Chang and his biology class joined our competition as spectators and they gave us lots of cheers and help. What’s more, they supported us with their energy and happiness. At last, the final winners were Jerry Xiao, William Zhang, and Jimmy Yin. The projectile that they made showed its stability, accuracy, and power.
The competition wasn’t just about marks. It gave us the idea of innovation, the concept of teamwork, and the improvement of friendship.
