Friday, May 11th 2018, Luwan Senior High School’s BC Program was proud to host the Third Annual British Columbia Offshore School (BCOS) English teacher roundtable. 21 teachers from 15 BC schools across China attended this day-long event.

This was not only an opportunity for English teachers to share teaching ideas and resources, but it also helped to strengthen offshore BC education as a whole. In the last PISA results, BC ranked 1st out of all English speaking education systems, far above England (IB system) and far above the United States (AP system).

The diligence and sharing that takes place between BC schools at events like this will continue to place BC among the top education systems in the world. That’s why the BC system is growing every year, with currently 45 schools across the world and another 6 opening soon.

The conference had a particularly strong focus on BC’s new curriculum. This new curriculum will place more focus on student choice and on providing students the skills they will need to succeed not only at school but in real life after graduation.
